Since the late nineties last century online methods have become popular, classical research been digitized, natively digital emerged, for example, asynchronous focus groups. pandemic has led to a rapid increase popularity online-methods in Russia, particular groups demand by market. Despite removal COVID restrictions, remained popular. In this article we consider changed reality, analyze specifics organization and conduct on example Leningrad Region. We demonstrate advantages disadvantages method, comprehend factors that may lead sample bias organizing groups, present our results field Internet. presented arguments provide more complex framework researchers, especially early career make reasoned balanced decision when selecting between face-to-face modes.

Doing synchronous online focus groups with young people: methodological reflections.
Although online focus groups are emerging as a worthwhile methodological approach for qualitative researchers, reporting has been constrained in several ways. The majority of studies report asynchronous groups, whereas others employ synchronous exchanges, the efficacy of which with young people has seldom been explored. Considering the popularity of the Internet as a communication tool for youn...
متن کاملAugmented Focus Groups: On Leveraging the Peculiarities of Online Virtual Worlds when Conducting In-World Focus Groups
Increasingly, academic researchers and practitioners have been using online 3D virtual worlds such as Second Life (SL) to conduct focus groups. When doing so, researchers and practitioners have copied and pasted as is, in this new environment, the qualitative methodologies commonly used in real-world focus groups. However, the relevance of using standard focus group methodologies within an onli...
متن کاملOnline focus groups An in-depth comparison of computer- mediated and conventional focus group discussions
This study compares face-to-face (FTF) focus groups with focus groups conducted via computer-mediated communication (CMC), using a range of outcome, process and subjective measures. Sixteen groups of three undergraduates participated in focus group discussions under FTF and CMC conditions on two different topics. Topics, communication condition and order of discussion were counterbalanced over ...
متن کاملOn Reflection Length in Reflection Groups
Let W be the Weyl group of a connected reductive group over a finite field. It is a consequence of the Borel-Tits rational conjugacy theorem for maximal split tori that for certain reflection subgroups W1 of W (including all parabolic subgroups), the elements of minimal reflection length in any coset wW1 are all conjugate, provided w normalises W1. We prove a sharper and more general result of ...
